her name is Lola.

SURPRISE!
we got a puppy.
and yes, she is asleep in this photo.
she was playing with her rope and just crashed right in the middle, just like this. with the toy in her mouth and everything.
we finally decided on the name Lola...hopefully it sticks!
we think she looks like a Lola.

let me tell you a few things about her cute personality:
+ she loves to chase feet
+ she is a fun little Morkie
+ she will sit and watch patiently while i make dinner
+ she is an excellent napper, i think we will get along
+ Lola sleeps in the funniest positions imaginable
+ i know she will be trouble soon enough
+ i will have my work cut out for me with potty training
+ she is chill she is already fine with her crate
+ she likes to pounce on you and your feet
+ she whines when she is tired or has to go to the bathroom, basically that is the only time
+ and obviously she is the most adorable puppy on the earth
+ she has already stolen our hearts
+ Lola loves to lay on your neck while in the car
+ she loves her sock monkey
+ and i'm pretty sure she hates baths already, she kept trying to escape

our new adventure.

yes it's true. we have moved to the beautiful state of Oregon [but just for the summer.] let me give you the back story:

we had talked about doing summer sales this summer, but shrugged it off and it never really happened. so we didn't go. but it kept coming back to summer sales over and over again. finally, at my friends wedding reception colin's brother called him and told him there was room for him to come and do summer sales. [he was already out in oregon.] so we jumped on board and said yes!

so it was one busy week for us. we got colin licensed on monday, started packing our house and got a storage unit in logan on tuesday, packed some more on wednesday and canceled our utilities, thursday we moved out of our apartment and left logan. we stayed in SLC all of friday and got everything jam packed into our car that we needed for the summer, went to the aquarium on friday and left early saturday morning. then we arrived saturday night after a long 12 hour drive!

so here we are in Oregon having another adventure.
we stopped in Idaho to eat lunch at a delicious empanada place. it was nice to have my left stretched out for once.
of course, of course. finally hit Oregon. i slept most the way, sorry husband.
i am obsessed with Portland, and their wonderful fire escapes. it reminds me of hollywood tv shows.
everything is so dang green here i love it! i can't wait to explore and see Oregon.
yup, it's dang gorgeous out here.
if you've ever been to oregon, do you have any suggestions of where we should go or what we should see while we are here?

Happiness Is...
  • finally making it [safely] to Oregon
  • overcast skies, i love it
  • having fun with the other wives
  • taking infinity naps
  • having chill days
  • my adorable nephew whom i love so much. i see him everyday and it makes me happy
  • the city, can't get over it
  • memorial day sales! yoo-boo big summa blow out

we like to catch fish.

colin and i bought a couple fishing poles and our first tackle box a couple weeks ago.
we have some really good friends we like to going fishing with, and it is the best thing ever.
i love fishing.
[last week i even caught a fish!! pic at bottom]
but yesterday we decided we wanted to go fishing again.
so we packed up our gear and lots of treats to go on our outing.
we got lots of bites, but sadly no fish.
plus it was freezing cold, hence the blankets.
but it was gorgeous. so enjoy our fishing trip.
and my handsome husband.
[i was dying of happiness in this photo]

because i like pictures.

about a week ago husband and i went bowling. we tend to go every couple of weeks because we love it so much. i scored my highest score since my bowling class last year. i got a whole 174.
finals weeks was pretty stressful and tiring. luckily my husband is the best ever. he asked if i wanted him to paint my toes! of course i said yes, and had to document the cute event // the next morning he left me that cute little note.
after my last finals and long day at work i came home to find a beautiful bouquet of flowers // and this sweet note. we can never decide where to eat...so i picked olive garden to celebrate the end of the semester.
this weekend colin's family was in town, so we went to California Pizza Kitchen at the gateway. we even spoiled ourselves to some 'Rocket Fizz' sweets.
i have the all time cutest nephew ever! he is just so happy and adorable. i will miss him over the summer. ^Ian^, mom and dad are gonna go to Oregon to sell for the summer. hopefully he doesn't grow up too much.
husband and i also topped the weekend off with Farr's ice cream and Ikea // we got a fabulous new rug, plant and candle holder for my makeup brushes. i love me some ikea.

+ finals are over so i can go back to my daily gym routine.
+ i am happy about the fact that i get to sleep in.
+ big changes are headed our way for next semester.
+ i am in need of doe much needed reading time.
+ i can't wait for shark week this summer, husband will get to experience it for the first time.

Happiness Is...

happiness.

so this guy, he is my happiness.
he makes me happy every single day.
let me tell you a little something about him.
he has a dimple, you can kinda see it in this photo.
if you could fall in love with someones side of their face, it would be his right side first.
since he always drove me around i could always get a good view of that dimple.
and i still love it.

this post is about happiness.
i use to always do a list of what made me happy for the day.
so i' gonna bring that back.

let me tell  you another lil' story:
my husband is what made me happy tonight/last night. [its not what you think...]
i woke up in the middle of the night deathly ill.
i puked from 3:00 in the morning till 5:30 am.
i swear my insides were trying to kill me.

cute colin was basically the best.
he held me, stayed up with me, and got me whatever i needed.
i sure love that man. he is the best thing that has ever happened to me.

Happiness Is...

  • finally being able to keep food down
  • redecorating our cute apartment
  • fruit snacks, yeah my mom hooked us up
  • old navy sweats. $15 i think yes. and they have hearts on them, so it makes it even better.
  • the office, i literally LOL every time i watch it. yes i reverted back to middle school slang
  • slippers. they keep my feet cozy
  • a warm husband. he is my personal heater, and its wonderful because obviously my blood runs cold
  • "toby, i don't understand why you aren't murdered every hour." -dwight
  • stride sour patch gum. it makes my face squint
  • twitter tweats, i read them often
  • when it is sunny outside, the logan weather has been bipolar, it can't decide what it wants to do.
  • redoing my blog...i do it often
  • reading. i am a readaholic

sometimes making a list is appropriate.

this image is purely here because i love this mans face.
and his personality might have something to do with it.
fact: i am a clippers fan by marriage.

today has possibly been the most boring busy day i've ever experienced.
[i had to respell that last sentence about 4 times. #thesrtuggle]
yes i used a hashtag.

so about my day.
i have some redecorating ideas for our adorable apartment.
i will share once i have okayed them with husband.
even though i'm 'the neck.'
if you didn't catch that reference i strongly suggest having a sit down with "My Big Fat Greek Wedding" sometime soon.

Goodness Gracious Ellie Goulding is pretty spectacular.
ha sometimes i crack myself up.
[its a song title.]
goodness gracious, that is.

sometimes i miss my happiness list.
i think i might bring it back.
happiness and i will get down with the sickness.

there is no particular pattern or theme for this post.
its mostly just a live stream of my continuous thoughts.
meow.

cadbury eggs might be the beginning of the separation of me and the gym.
speaking of, planet fitness is pretty swell.
i am a proud member.
a member who can't wait to get brown for the summer.
[hence tanning beds. yes i will pretend i hear all of you scolding me.]
don't mind my sass.

lately i instagram and tweet more than anything.
all the cool kids live through social media.
or so i hear.

anywho. listen to the divergent soundtrack.
it will do you some good.
peace out scouts.

valentines was swell.

my husband is a sweetie.
he surprised me on valentines with flowers, balloons, chocolates and a poster made with my all time favorite candies. he must know me or something.
he is my best friend and i am so glad that we have been married for 6 months!
6 months! i still can't believe how time has flown.

of course to celebrate we ate delicious Buffalo Wild Wings (take out) at our adorable apartment. don't judge, it may not be the most romantic dinner, or classy, but it is dang good and i'll take it any day!
then we watched the movie tangled and were just cute.

valentine's day is just fabulous, and i would say our first valentine's together was a success.
I love that man of mine.

1.03.2014

the new year and goals.

of course at the beginning of the new year we all have goals and desires we are burning to accomplish. our cute family is no exception, there are things we want to accomplish with this new year. it gives us a chance to start over and have a "clean slate" in a way. that's the great thing about a new year.

so these are our goals:
+ HAVE NIGHTLY PRAYER: i am not proud to say so, but ever since we have been married we have struggled with saying our nightly prayers together. we just are so tired at the end of the day and we get too comfortable cuddling in our warm bed. so we have made it a serious goal to accomplish. and so far, for the 2 days that have been in the new year, we have accomplished it!

+ GO TO THE TEMPLE [once a month]: sadly, the last time Colin and i have been to the temple was the day we got married. we have wanted to go so bad ever since but obviously it hasn't worked out, and that's the way the adversary works... so it is also on our goal lists. i have been dying to go back to that wonderful place that brings so much peace. i love the temple.

+ READ OUR SCRIPTURES: on instagram colin say a 365 challenge to read the Book of Mormon. so for the past couple nights we have read our scriptures together. i have felt a happier spirit in our home and i feel like we are growing even closer spiritually. of course we were spiritual, but we've been trying to bring that much more into our home.

+ LESS SWEETS & MORE EXERCISE: yes, we are the typical people who have that on their lists. one thing you may not know about marriage yet, is that when you are married you care more about being together than eating all of your vegetables and going for a run. so it officially starts on monday, so we are preparing this weekend. we are gonna go grocery shopping and fill up our fridge with deliciously healthy food, and start P90X on monday. [wish us luck]

i know most of them are spiritual goals, but they are important to me and to us.

first christmas with the husband.

so christmas is way better when you're married i must say. i was so dang excited to get colin's gifts and have him open them. i was contemplating him opening them many times before christmas, i could hardly wait! and yes i made him open pajamas on christmas eve, and he made me open mine. we are kinda cute.

having a christmas is so special, especially with colin. it is just wonderful to share it with someone and give and do service for them. i can't wait to have a million more christmases with this man. he is my best friend and having him as a husband is the best gift i could ever ask for.
so my husband is the best thing ever. he knows how much i love to read, so for christmas he surprised me and got me a nook! a freaking nook, and i love it. i've been reading on it everyday since. i sure love that man. he is always so thoughtful. he also got me a kitchen aid and lots of clothes. yes i got a kitchen aid and i absolutely love it. married gifts are super great.

so one thing you must know about me is that i absolutely love christmas lights. and on the way back to logan there is a drive through christmas place called "fantasy on the bay." it is absolutely magical and filled with lights. if you are in the logan area/ogden area i would recommend that you go.

100 days of marriage.

on monday December 9, 2013 Colin and i had been married for 100 days! crazy how the time flies. that morning Colin had work later so we were able to eat breakfast together. during breakfast he turned to me and said, "i was gonna wait to tell you this, but HAPPY 100 DAYS OF MARRIAGE! that means we are going out to dinner tonight." how adorable...

that night we went out to Buffalo Wild Wings; my choice. i had been craving it all day at work. it was delightful. when we got home Colin ran into the back room and said i had to go sit in the living room. a little while later he came out saying he couldn't wait any longer. he had written down 100 things he loved about me. he had cut about 1/3 of them in half and was going to put them in an envelope, but decided he wanted to give it to me right away! i read every single one and it made me melt. i sure love that man.

so since we have been married for 100 days, i thought i would give you some pieces of advice i've learned in my short time being Mrs. Anderson.

  1. [i know people always say this, but] never go to bed mad! don't do it. resolve the issue before you fall asleep. otherwise it has time to fester and it can cause you to wake up still thinking about it.
  2. never talk bad about your spouse to anyone! just because you are in a bad mood, you don't want to hurt your spouse. you want to uplift your spouse, not bring them down. i would never want to hurt colin. i try to put myself into that situation. if i heard from someone that my husband said something bad about me, it would destroy me. so i never want my husband to be put into that situation.
  3. always go to bed with a kiss, and wake up with a kiss. just do it. it's cute and i love it! it's how colin and i always end the night and start the morning.
  4. think more about your spouse than yourself. the whole point of marriage is to be selfless and serve. i love giving my all into my marriage and my husbands happiness is my happiness.
  5. be honest with your spouse. there is nothing more important than being 100% upfront in everything.
  6. trust your spouse. trust is what the whole relationship is built upon.
  7. if there is something bothering you, tell your spouse! they are never going to know unless you say something. sometimes i make the mistake of thinking my husband can read my mind and i get upset because he doesn't know what i'm thinking. then i laugh at myself and end up telling him what's on my mind.
  8. combine your money asap. colin and i had so many things going on and different things to pay for that it took forever for us to combine our money into one account. it caused a lot of stress and i wish we would have done it sooner. it just makes things a lot easier.
  9. say 'i love you' at least once a day. there is nothing i love more, or love to say more than 'i love you.' it is important! and you may think that you don't need to say it everyday, or more than once a day, but it is an important reminder to your spouse.
  10. don't do anything you aren't comfortable with. i will admit, the first couple weeks colin and i were married it was so weird getting use to always having him around and figuring how to live with a man. also, being newly married you have to figure things out and figure out what you are and aren't comfortable with. be patient with your spouse and it's important to communicate. communication is key.

macklemore.

saturday was quite the eventful day. before colin quit his last job he snagged us some awesome tickets to the macklemore concert. neither of us are die hard fans, but we thought "the tickets are free...i guess we will go." and yes, we danced, we cried, we laughed, and had a really really really good time. macklemore even wore a Jazz jersey, which i gave him mad props for. it was truly wonderful! passing some of the other fans on the way to our seats made me feel like i could possibly be at a lady gaga concert though, but colin and i just snapped pictures of them and just laughed.

plus laughing at all the drunk people was a plus. sadly he didn't have any good bands opening for him. they were all super ghetto and i thought i was on the streets and could get shot at any moment. i guess thats what you get when you go to an R&B concert...i am use to a different atmosphere.

i danced my little heart out like the ceiling couldn't hold me. it was wonderful wonderful. oh macklemore. he is fantastic and i have mad respect for him.

husbands birthday.

on the 12th of October 22 years ago colin was born. and here we are, 22 years later; married and loving life! i made him a cake, which started off his birthday week, and i even put sparklers in it. just to be fancy.

then on saturday morning i forced him to open all of his presents. i almost made him open them the night before, i am terrible at giving gifts to people. i want them to open them the second i wrap them.

he got a killer jacket, a sweater, checkered shirt and a mofi. he is still in love with it of course.

then his family surprised him with jazz tickets! luckily his team was playing [the clippers]. on the 3rd row i might add. it was amazing because i have never been that close. oh colin, he was like a kid on christmas. it was adorable! "i'm freaking pumped!!" was his phrase of the night.

and yes, i played '22' by T-Swift all day long for him. I just couldn't help myself. that's my hubby! he's finally 22. and i'm feeling 20 too.

i must rant a bit about this guy. he is the best thing that has ever happened to me and i couldn't ask for a better husband. he is so wonderful and my #1 fan. he is my best friend and cracks me up all the time. i am so thankful that he took me to the temple and we can be together forever. i just freaking love that kid! happy birthday colin anderson!

asylum 49.

saturday, after watching conference and visiting Salt Lake, husband and i were driving home when we decided to be very spontaneous. he turned to me and said "hey do you wanna go to asylum 49?" of course i do!

one thing you must know about us is that we both love scary movies. we discovered asylum 49 this year and thought about going, but it is all the way out in tooele, and since we reside in logan, we didn't think there would be a good chance of us making it out there. but since most of our adventures as a married couple are spontaneous, we decided to go.

after what seemed like forever in the car, we finally reached the asylum. literally you drive until you think you have hit the middle of nowhere and nothing else could possibly be any further...but of course you have to drive farther into the middle of nowhere. who doesn't love tooele?

let me give you a little back knowledge on asylum 49:
+ the haunted house takes place in an actual asylum, which is actually smelling and creepy.
+ it is full contact. so the 'haunters' can touch you, grab you, and separate you from your group
+ they threaten you that they will grab you and strap you to a gurney for several hours

so...being the cuties we are, we walked up to the ambulance that was selling tickets and grabbed our wrist bands. the lady put them on us and made us sign and thumb-print a waver saying we were fine with being touched. yeah this was when i started thinking, "what have i gotten myself into?"

let me tell ya, it for sure smelt like an asylum, but it was by far the scariest haunted house i have ever been to. immediately they started touching me, grabbing me, whispering in my ears and trying to take me away from colin. after a couple body checks from husband they let go luckily. i didn't want to end up on a gurney for 5 hours.

although it sounds a bit alarming, i would recommend going. its a once in a life time experience thats for sure. i would go a million more times if it was closer to logan.

9.23.2013

new kicks & melons.

+ husband and i spent the weekend in Green River at Melon Days. eating watermelon for free might i add. my feet got sticky and my nose got some sun.

+ i bought new shoes, and new boots. the boots were ready for retirement and they were free also. i like free things, and in logan boots are a must in the winter. i literally wear them every day, call me a boot whore.

+ logan is starting to get cold. scarf and cardigan weather is here and i couldn't be more ecstatic. there is nothing i love more than a good cardigan and boots.

+ colin and i are in the middle of the 3rd season of Prison Break, and colin is dying. i am sure if he didn't have to work he would stay up 24/7 watching prison break. [without eating or sleeping] of course that's how i was too when i watched it the first time. i still think Michael Scofield is a totally Bad-A.

+ mondays are rarely enjoyable, but i get to have lunch with the husband, so that makes mondays suck less.

+ my throat is raw and i am afraid the colds have come early this year. it's the curse when you work with kids everyday.

+ i am itching to go clothes shopping. i haven't been since the beginning of summer. plus, fall clothes are funner to get anyway, and i live in a winter zone. [yes i said funner, i don't mind if it's not a word.]

+ i am still scared to cook anything in the oven, although i love baking more than anything. this dilemma needs to be fixed.

9.16.2013

the two weeks.

on saturday colin and i officially had been married for two weeks! so, to celebrate we woke up and went to IHOP for breakfast. we sort of love IHOP. we watched some Prison Break to kick our hankering for the day, and bought some newlywed apartment things from Bed, Bath & Beyond. [known as Bed, Bath & Body to Colin.]

then we went to Insidious: Chapter 2. my husband knows me too well. on friday when we both were home from work he asked, "what are you doing saturday night?" [obviously be with him...] he told me, "people at my work were talking about going to see Insidious 2 and i thought to myself, 'my wife would really like to go to that. so i'm gonna take her.'" what a sweet husband. i kinda love him.

and to answer the question that's in your head right now, yes, it was terrifying. [which i absolutely love.] i have my own rating of scary movies. if i wake up in the middle of the night and if thinking about the scary movie i watched creeps me out, then it was a good scary movie...and when i had to pee in the middle of the night last night, i was pretty eager to run back to bed.

married life...sigh...i love it.

don't forget to check 'what we're all about.'

9.12.2013

on being mrs. anderson.

it's been almost two weeks since i married my best friend and became 'mrs. anderson.' it was the best decision and i can't wait to spend forever with my husband.

being husband & wife still has a surreal feel to it. everyday colin and i look at each other and say, "we are so married right now!" its like playing house, but it's possibly the best thing ever because you get to be with your best friend 24/7 and you get to have sleepovers.

we are both working and going to school at good old Utah State. we wash our own dishes and make dinner together. i have even got husband hooked on Prison Break, it's part of our nightly relaxing routine.

everyone should get married right now, just to experience how wonderful married life is. i have a husband who i think the world of and we have a blast all the time. he makes me laugh uncontrollable and he can always seem to read my mind.

find the man you are suppose to love and marry the crap out of him. that's my advice.
