lincoln city, OR.

over the weekend we traveled to the oregon coast and it was fabulous. seriously, i felt it belonged in a calendar or on a screensaver for the computer. we sat on the beach that night around a fire while fireworks were going off. i felt like i was on a very elaborate date from 'The Bachelor,' except it was way better. we visited the tide pools and it was the coolest live aquarium. some of the beach houses on the coast are insane! so gorgeous, i wanted to take a tour of each one. so enjoy these pictures that don't do the coast justice.
i love the oregon coast. even though it's bloody windy during the day.

salt & straw.

Salt & Straw has the most amazing ice cream i have ever tasted. i love portland and it's hidden treasures. of course like every other amazing place in portland the line stretched down the street. i got the refreshing Lemon Armaretto Sour Sorbet. [awww]

check out their flavors here.
they have crazy ones like: pear & blue cheese [didn't try it, i was scared] and honey balsamic strawberry with cracked pepper...i didn't try that one either, but if you are braver than me go for it!

p.s. happy fathers day to all the fathers out there! especially to mine because he is the best.

i told colin that morning, "happy fathers day!...to be!...one day"
no he won't be a father any time soon. but one day.

another portland get-away.

we love Portland so much that we planned another trip. i'm sure it will be the second of many. its just such a fun dirty city. yeah it's pretty gross, but you can't help but love to explore.

we crossed the first thing of my 'portland bucket list' by visiting the humongously cute powells city of books. it is literally a city of books with multiple floors. i was in book heaven and colin knew it. he even found a childhood favorite: captain underpants. i never said it was classy...but i will defend that they were all the rage in elementary school.

if you are ever in portland please try the delicious food trucks. especially The Grilled Cheese Grill.
it is the high and mighty of grilled cheeses. i recommend the egg, cheese, and bacon grilled cheese. to die for.

oh the pie spot. i had been dying to visit ever since i found it on pinterest, and it was everything i had hoped it would be and more. what can i say, it was a day of eating. we got some of their famous 'pie holes' and taste buds had a party. they were divine!

after all that eating we decided to walk it off at the [free] rose gardens. there were thousands of rose bush gardens and they were all gorgeous! colin called it the allergy garden [for those who have allergies...we don't luckily]

free little library.

*i loved the fact that someone had already put this book in there*

happy june! today i went on an adventure around Salem city. i had heard about these 'little free libraries,' and being a reader i wanted to check them out. the whole concept is 'take a book, leave a book.' so i brought Divergent wanting to swap, but sadly there were no books i wanted to swap for in this little box. so i will save it until there is one i want to swap it for. that'll be a good day, until then i'll just keep on thinking they're dang cute. how i love Oregon.

free little libraries are now crossed off my Oregon bucket list.

voodoo donuts || portland.

on sunday we went to the wonderful city of Portland, Oregon. it is my favorite. then again i'm a suck for the city life.

we got the famous Voodoo Donuts, and yes, they lived up to every bit of their reputation.
once you've tried their donuts a whole new world is opened up, and the bar is set.
[*they say the magic is in the hole*]
[take a look at their menu, you won't regret it]

we then ventured out from Voodoo and discovered their saturday/sunday market, and a fair.
which did in fact carry bubble tea. my weakness.
my husband, being the man he is, bought a green laser pointer.
i love his randomness.
and i love a good 'flea market' aura.

portland is a beautifully dirty city that i love spending time in.
it just seems old and different. i love traveling and seeing new things.
portland and every part of oregon are my favorite.
i can't wait to see what we have in store this next sunday.

the shortcake stand.

luckily while colin is selling P1 everyday there are other wives to hang with. yesterday was one of the wives birthday, so we went to this adorable shortcake stand here is Salem, Oregon. it was delicious! i am a sucker for whipped cream, ice cream and strawberries.

Oregon has tons of little shops and hidden places you can go to. i love sight seeing and experiencing new things, so i am so excited for this summer.

if you ever get the change to go to E.Z. Orchards Shortcake Stand, get the small shortcake on a biscuit, with whipped cream. it is a part in your mouth.

after our day of shopping i went back to our apartment and took a 2 1/2 hour nap...story of my life. i love sleep.

i can't wait to see what else Oregon has in store for us.

Happiness Is...

  • whipped cream
  • anthropology
  • all the hilarious books urban outfitters has
  • the fact that i live 10 minutes from a Target, instead of and hour and a half. my love for target is big
  • watching shark tank with the hubs. robert and mark are our favorite.
  • swimming suits, i always love to looks, but i haven't quite gotten myself one for summer
  • that i can wear long sleeve shirts, it's basically all i have, thanks logan.
  • fishing...i miss it terribly
  • ellie goulding you are a goddess
  • arrow! insanity for all those that watch

our new adventure.

yes it's true. we have moved to the beautiful state of Oregon [but just for the summer.] let me give you the back story:

we had talked about doing summer sales this summer, but shrugged it off and it never really happened. so we didn't go. but it kept coming back to summer sales over and over again. finally, at my friends wedding reception colin's brother called him and told him there was room for him to come and do summer sales. [he was already out in oregon.] so we jumped on board and said yes!

so it was one busy week for us. we got colin licensed on monday, started packing our house and got a storage unit in logan on tuesday, packed some more on wednesday and canceled our utilities, thursday we moved out of our apartment and left logan. we stayed in SLC all of friday and got everything jam packed into our car that we needed for the summer, went to the aquarium on friday and left early saturday morning. then we arrived saturday night after a long 12 hour drive!

so here we are in Oregon having another adventure.
we stopped in Idaho to eat lunch at a delicious empanada place. it was nice to have my left stretched out for once.
of course, of course. finally hit Oregon. i slept most the way, sorry husband.
i am obsessed with Portland, and their wonderful fire escapes. it reminds me of hollywood tv shows.
everything is so dang green here i love it! i can't wait to explore and see Oregon.
yup, it's dang gorgeous out here.
if you've ever been to oregon, do you have any suggestions of where we should go or what we should see while we are here?

Happiness Is...
  • finally making it [safely] to Oregon
  • overcast skies, i love it
  • having fun with the other wives
  • taking infinity naps
  • having chill days
  • my adorable nephew whom i love so much. i see him everyday and it makes me happy
  • the city, can't get over it
  • memorial day sales! yoo-boo big summa blow out

the living aquarium.

the husband and i had our last hooray in utah this past week. [will explain in next post]. we have been dying to go to the living aquarium in Draper since it opened. luckily it wasn't swamped so we decided to go on friday. i loved every moment of it. i felt like a child on christmas.

there were so many fish, some as big as me. and of course the shark tank tunnel. my personal favorite.  if you get a chance to go i wouldn't pass it up. [and you can use your student discount, if you have your student ID. yeah for being cheap college students.]

anywho, this is short and it was great.
